- Certificate in College Counseling, UCLA Extension — with Distinction
Three principles that shape every engagement.
Personalized, not packaged.
Every applicant is different. Each student's strategy — school list, essays, timeline — is built around their strengths, interests, and goals, not a template.
Built for international families — with a particular focus on Spain.
The U.S. admissions process is unfamiliar to most families outside it. I spent more than two decades in Spain and understand where Spanish families get lost in the system. I translate the process, the jargon, and the unwritten rules so you can make informed decisions at every step.
A small caseload, by design.
I work with a limited number of students each year. That means real time for essay drafts, school list research, and the conversations that actually move applications forward.

A counselor who has done the work, at every level.
I'm Antonia Estrada, an independent college counselor based in New York specializing in international students applying to U.S. colleges — with a particular focus on families from Spain. Originally from California and educated at Harvard and Stanford, I bring an insider's understanding of U.S. higher education — I lived it, studied it, and now help families abroad navigate it. I also lived and worked in Spain for more than two decades, giving me a grounded sense of the questions Spanish families bring to the process. I've navigated this from the family side, too, not just the professional one: all three of my children grew up in Spain and went on to attend U.S. colleges. I hold an AB in Economics from Harvard University, an MBA from Stanford University, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension (with Distinction).
